STS Italia Conference 2023: Call for abstracts now open

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce the call for abstracts to the 9th STS Italia Conference . The conference will be hosted by the University of Bologna, Italy, June 28th-30th, 2023 and organized by the Italian Society of Science and Technology Studies in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and Communication Studies and the Department of Political and Social Sciences.

The conference will be an opportunity to present your empirical and theoretical work from a variety of disciplines, among which sociology, anthropology, design, economics, history, philosophy and semiotics. The theme of the 9th STS Italia Conference is "Interesting Worlds to come. Science & Technology Studies facing more-than-human challenges". It calls for research tackling the challenges faced by our planet by designing worlds to come from an inter-national, inter-species and inter-generational justice perspective.

The conference engages with the theme through 51 panels focusing on several topics, including: future scenarios, ecological crisis, digital platforms, media, gender and sexuality, biomedicine, work and organizations, lay/expertise knowledge, innovation and public policy, to name a few.

_Abstracts (in English) should be submitted by January, 15th via the conference platform . _Panel Convenor(s) will be responsible for reviewing, accepting/rejecting and organising submissions into their track.

(attached or on the website) and create an account on the conference platform https://www.conftool.org/stsitalia2023, then submit your contribution after account creation.

Deadline: January 15, 2023

Notification of acceptance February 20, 2023
