Job ad @ Edinburgh: Interdisciplinary Research Fellow in Biomedicine, Self and Society

Hello colleagues

Here at the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society (CBSS), University of Edinburgh, we are inviting applications for a postdoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Fellow to join the team.

The successful applicant will design and deliver a research project related to the Beyond Engagement theme of CBSS. They will also contribute to the development of the Centres engagement strategy. As a Centre, we are seeking applicants with experience of undertaking engagement activities and of combining theoretical and practical expertise to develop novel approaches to engagement and research.

The position is fixed term, with a contract end-date of 31 March 2024. The post will be appointed at UoE G7, within a salary range of 35,333 - 42,155 pa. The appointee will be managed by and work closely with Dr Sarah Chan (CBSS Associate Director) and Professor Sarah Cunningham-Burley (CBSS Co-Director) as theme leads.

The application and proposed project should relate to at least one of the three following areas of scholarship, with interdisciplinary approaches explicitly welcomed :

  1. Bioethics and/or philosophy
  2. Socio-legal studies
  3. Social sciences and/or history
