Fwd: Invitation: Zeynep Karagöz, Monday, 20 March 2023, 19:30 (Istanbul; GMT +3) / 17:30 (Berlin, GMT +1) / 11:30 a.m. (New York, EST)

                Dear friends and colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well. As you may be aware, a devastating
M7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey, as well as northern
and western Syria, on 6 February 2023. This has created significant
challenges, particularly for NGOs that are on the ground and working to
provide support to those affected.

With this in mind, I am delighted to forward and share an invitation
with you for the upcoming lecture "How to make a difference: Free 3D
printed devices for earthquake victims" featuring Zeynep Karagöz from
Robotel Türkiye, which I am co-organizing with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mara
Mills (NYU Center for Disability Studies) and Prof. Dr. Robert Stock
(Humboldt Universität zu Berlin). This event aims to raise awareness
about the invaluable work that Robotel Türkiye is undertaking to assist
earthquake victims who have lost limbs.

I strongly encourage you to attend this lecture to learn more about
Robotel Türkiye's efforts, the challenges they are facing, and the ways
in which we can support their work. This event promises to be insightful
and informative, and most importantly, it is for a good cause.

Thank you, and I hope to see you at the lecture.

Best wishes,

Melike Şahinol

This lecture offers an opportunity to learn more about our work at
Robotel Türkiye, which I am heading, in providing free 3D-printed
prostheses for children who lack access to such devices. I will focus
the impact it has had on the lives of those we serve. Our primary focus
has been on providing mechanical hands, arms, and fingers to children,
although we have also served adults upon request. However, recent events
have led us to extend our services to include shoulder mechanisms, adult
models, and orthotic prosthesis devices.

On 6 February 2023, at 04:17 TRT (01:17 UTC), a M7.8 earthquake struck
southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. In this
lecture, I will focus on our efforts in the earthquake region in Turkey,
where we have received numerous requests for our services. I will
discuss the impact of our work in the region and the urgent need for
volunteers and financial support to continue our efforts. Our
organization is currently facing a significant increase in demand, and
we cannot continue our vital work without additional resources.

I will discuss the challenges and successes of our work, and the ways in
which interested individuals can get involved and make a difference.
With your support, we can continue to serve those in need and make a
positive impact on their lives.

Therefore, I would like to call for financial support from individuals,
organizations, and institutions who share our vision of improving the
lives of those who lack access to prosthetic devices. *Donate by

prostheses to those who need them the most. Together, we can make a
difference and ensure that everyone has access to the medical care they
