                Dear colleagues,

A quick reminder that on June 16-17, at EPFL (Switzerland) and online, we will organize a two-day workshop on Sustaining Knowledge and its Infrastructure: Digital Knowledge Infrastructures at the Crossroads of Governance Practices.

Keynotes by

Christine L. Borgman (UCLA) on Research Data Infrastructure: A Problem of Governance.

Roundtables on
Legitimacy (Chair: Jessica Pidoux): how infrastructures interact with their ecosystem and make the case for their usefulness, to justify the investment they require.
With:

  *
Chérifa Boukacem (Université Claude Bernard, Lyon)
  *
Dominique Boullier (COESO, Sciences Po)
  *
Maud Ehrmann (Impresso, EPFL)

Maintenance (Chair: Marianna Fenzi): on the endless curation work necessary to hold together in tension the heterogeneous elements of infrastructures, and adapt them to internal and external conditions.

With:

  *

  *
Maciej Maryl (Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw)
  *
Charlotte Mazel-Cabasse (Unil, EPFL)

Governance (Chair: Jérôme Baudry): on the design and critique of power structures for the sustainability of infrastructures.

  *

How to get to EPFL
From the center of Lausanne, take the metro line m2 at Flon (direction Renens) and stop at EPFL station. Then, walk to SG 0213:

  1.
go to the front of the platform in the direction of the train,
  2.
go down the stairs and take left under the railways,
  3.
go up the stairs and straight in the alley in front of you;
  4.
after the first long building, a small square opens on your right,
  5.
enter the building and go down in the lower agora, we will be waiting for you here!

For the EPFL map, see here.

In the hope of seeing you either online or on-site, best regards,
Pierre Mounier and Simon Dumas Primbault
