Talking Books: Simon Cole

Dear colleagues,

we would like to invite you to the STS-MIGTEC event series 'Talking Books' (see the flyer attached). During the next two sessions, we will collaboratively read and discuss the book of Simon Cole "Suspect Identities. A History of Fingerprinting and Criminal Identification" (2001) .

The first session will be to discuss the 'classic' book and its relevance for understanding recent developments of biometrics and their role in the context of migration and border control management. The session takes place online on May 9 from 3 - 5 pm CET. You may find the invitation flyer attached. The second session will take place together with the author Simon Cole on May 16 from 17 - 18h30 CET.

If you would like to attend the events, please register your interest via our website by April 5. We will share with you suggestions of how to structure your readings.

For registration and more information please check: https://www.sts-migtec.org/events/talking-books/suspect-identities-a-history-of-fingerprinting

With many thanks and best wishes from the organising team:
